school lock-down and kindergarten round-up
We had a bit of a scare this morning in our schools. There was a 18 year old gunman on the loose in our city near one of our local junior/senior high schools and elementary schools. They completely locked down the schools and surrounded them with police. Eventually, the gunman turned himself in. This was fairly scary in the light of the school shooting two weeks ago.
On the school note, my 5 year old visited her potential kindergarten for next year. It is a charter school wear there can only be 12 students per class. Two weeks ago her name got pulled out of a hat to be a part of this very innovative elementary school. My wife and I were pretty impressed by the school, and our daughter really liked it too. This is coming from parents that really felt like we were to home school. I think God may have different plans. We haven’t 100% decided on sending her there yet, however we are leaning torwards sending her to school this fall.
