After prayer, thought, counsel, and discussions with my wife I have decided to consider the new ministry position. We will see what happens. I talked with our former interim pastor yesterday and he had three thoughts about me moving on.
The first thing he asked me is what did my wife think about the idea? She is cool about it and excited by the prospect of different scenery.
The 2nd thing he said was to make sure the new church understands all my dreams I have about ministry. He recommended that I find out what they are really looking for so I will not be disappointed if they expect me to be in this sort of position for life.
The 3rd thing he recommended is that I sit down and have a chat with our future lead pastor. Currently we don’t have a pastor; however there is a candidate that is very likely going to be our next pastor. He said I should meet him and find out his vision for our church. It would be a shame to leave and wish I had stayed because this future pastor has an energizing vision for our church.
I wrote an email to the pastor of the church that called today. We will see what happens.
