After the play is over I think I am going to go take a personal retreat to refocus things. This is something I have never done before. However, if I don’t do something like this I think I just might lose it this winter.

My wife made me a sack lunch today so I didn’t go home for lunch. This is probably a good thing since my scooter is now out of commission till the snow goes away. Winter is almost here, and to be honest, that really depresses me. I normally really look forward to the holiday season. I am not really excited about it this year. I really feel like I have little to look forward to these coming months. I would really like to go on a trip to New York this spring or summer. Back to work. It really does feel liek the play is over :( , even though we have 3 performances this coming weekend.

It has been awhile since my last post. I have been pretty crazy busy with the play that I am in. We had our first run of 3 shows this weekend. They went pretty well. A lot has been stirred in my heart these past first months. I feel like I ma really going through this grieving process about the choices I made in my life 8 years ago when I decided to go into ministry. Getting back in the theatre reminded me how much I loved it, and the reason why I wanted to do it for a job. Don’t get me wrong I think God had a plan for me to be a minister and it has been a great 8 years. It has just been difficult.

Today is the first day in 7 days that we don’t do the play. It is really somewhat of an empty feeling. The show doesn’t rev up again till Thursday. Then we close the show on Sunday.

Sorry it has been so quite around here. I have been taking most of my spare time memorizing lines. The show opens in 18 days and I think it is in pretty good shape. I am having a lot of fun.

Here is some local weird news for today. In my town one of the schools was shut down because a deer got in a wrecked a bunch of stuff. We have a lot of snow days by living in Minnesota, but I have never heard of a “deer day”. Funny stuff.

Today we will be going on our annual fall retreat. This years schedule we will be heading up to Minneapolis to go to Thousand Foot Crutch/Hawk Nelson concert, then tomorrow we will be colleting food for the food shelf, then off to the Mall of America for Camp Snoopy. It should be a good time.

Here is the story about the deer:

This morning, police officers were called to Kennedy Elementary School about a deer that had jumped through a window into the school.

Upon arrival, officers met with school officials who had confined the deer into an empty classroom. The deer jumped through a window and entered a classroom where there were only teachers present. School officials sealed off the area and contacted the police.

While police officers were making arrangements to have the deer tranquilized, the deer succumbed to its injuries and died in the classroom.

No one was injured during the incident.

Well I am back in the office with a ton of work to do.

I thought I would share a few pictures. I hardly took any.

Here is a picture of David Crowder and his band worshiping. I was pretty far back so the quality sort of stinks.

While we we at Youth Specialties we created this fun box ball game using a box from HQ and a ball that we got from one of the booths. Here are a couple of my friends playing the game. I have a feeling that something like this could only break out at a YS conference.

Lot to do…I better get to work.

This will most likely be my final post from Sacramento. It was a good convention as always. It is always a little sad when it is all over and you go back home to your church. However, I am excited to see my wife and kids.

The final general session tonight was great with David Crowder leading worship. It seems to always be one of the best times of worship for my whole year.

It is late, so I’m not sure I can be very retrospective at 1:35am.

After I leave the NYWC I always feel so thankful for the privilege to serve the Lord by working with JH students. It is truly a blessing!

I also always come back with a lot practical stuff to bring back to my leadership team as well.

As I get back tomorrow night I have some major things to think about.

Super Group night at church this week (bring a friend night)
Play practice- it is going pretty well.
Preaching on the 16th- I think I am going to talk about Messy Spiritually.

Ok…heading to bed as I’m going lose two hours tomorrow.
